Despite Ruling Duncan Vows to Block Motel
(Laurelton, NY) April 7th….Late Tuesday morning, the Board of Standards and Appeals (BSA) ruled in favor of granting an extension to Mr. Gandhi, thereby allowing construction to continue putting the safety of the district in jeopardy. Minutes after the decision, protests could be heard declaring today’s unfolding of events as unjust and a severe setback. Despite the news, Michael R. Duncan, who is running for the 31st Council District, took the opportunity to harshly rebuke Saliesh Gandhi, proprietor of the chain of Hot Sheet Motels and unequivocally send a bold call for action. He also put today’s ruling in context as to remind supporters of the ongoing struggle to come. “This is not the first time, the courts have ruled against us,” Duncan remarked. “I do not know what will happen next. But, I know one thing for sure: my supporters and I will fight until the motel is brought down Nothing less will be tolerated. I won’t let Mr. Gandhi or his motels infiltrate my district, not on my watch.” .
